South Yorkshire Police have been called to a serious incident in Barnsley today, leading to a six-hour road closure.

Emergency services were called to Acorn Way in Grimethorpe, Barnsley following a reported road traffic collision.

The Star has been told the incident happened at around 12.30pm on Thursday, June 27, 2024. Sources also state the Yorkshire Air Ambulance was seen landing nearby.

South Yorkshire Police erected a cordon at the scene. It was still in place at 5.30pm, but police were seen to be in the process of standing down the cordon at 6.30pm, according to eye-witnesses.
