Batemoor: Two more men charged over Sheffield stabbing during which gunshots were fired

Four people have now been charged in connection with the incident, which left a 41-year-old woman with a stab wound.

Two men have appeared at court charged with numerous offences, after a gun was discharged and a woman was stabbed in a Sheffield neighbourhood.

Police were called out to reports of a shooting at White Thorns View in the Batemoor area of the city at around 11.20pm on Monday, May 13, 2024.

Aiden Taylor, 22, of White Thorns Drive, has been charged with wounding with intent, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of an offensive weapon and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He has been remanded in custody following his appearance at Sheffield Magistrates' Court yesterday (June 5).

Nicolas Jepson, 41, of White Thorns View, has been charged with wounding with intent, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He has been remanded in custody following his appearance at Sheffield Magistrates' Court today (June 6).

Officers, including South Yorkshire Police armed response officers and the National Police Air Service, attended the scene and it is reported that an altercation took place between a group of a men and a 41-year-old woman, where the woman suffered a suspected stab wound. 

The firearms discharge is believed to have happened after this altercation.

The woman's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-altering, and no-one was injured by the discharge.

The charges brought against Mr Taylor and Mr Jepson bring the total number of people charged in connection with the investigation to four.

On May 27, 2024, Lewis Aghour, 23, of Dawlands Close appeared at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court was charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and wounding with intent. Mr Aghour was remanded at the conclusion of the hearing, and is now due to appear before Sheffield Crown Court on June 25, 2024.

Daniel Waterfall, of no fixed address, was charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of an offensive weapon and wounding with intent on May 17, 2024. He will next appear at Sheffield Crown Court on June 14, 2024.
