This picture represents the past, present and future of Sheffield boxing.

It is a sparring session between former national ABA champion and current professional Liam Cameron and England Boxing's 2024 Senior Elite National Final winner Teagn Stott, a leading amateur.

Both are powerful, exciting boxing currently hovering around the light-heavyweight/cruiserweight scene.

Liam is 33 and has relaunched his career in the paid ranks, while Teagn is 13 years his junior, and is being groomed by top specialists in the Great Britain development programme.

The pair locked horns at Sheffield Boxing Centre, as Liam prepares for his next pro fight.

Teagn's trainer Gyn Rhodes said: "It was great to have Liam over at our gym, he is always welcome here and he wants to come back next week, so the sparring must have been useful for him.

"As for Teagn, this sort of sparring is a priceless experience.

"It was two national champions, together, one who is older and has been around the block and the other a young buck at the start of his career.

"It was the new kid versus the old kid, and it was very good sparring all around.

"You can tell Liam has all the moves, and knows how to tuck up, while Teagn is learning with every day."

Liam's next fight has yet to be announced but his form since returning to the sport has caught the eye of promoters.

Some say the Manor fighter could be heading for a showdown for a former world champion status warrior - perhaps someone like Lyndon Arthur, who lost the IBO and WBA Light Heavy contest with Dmitrii Bivol in Riyadh, Saudia Arabia, in December.

The 32-year-old Mancunian had won the IBO belt the previous September.

On X, Cameron, whose paid boxing career started back in 2009, posted that he'd had enjoyed "great sparring" with Stott.

In his next fight, whoever the opponent is, he will be hoping to replicate his last two bouts - he KO'd both his rivals in the first round.

That took his pro career scorecard to Won 23, lost five.

Cameron is not just busy getting himself ready, he is also training young and adult boxers at Steel City gym.

Meanwhile, Sheffield promoter Izzy Asif says it has been one of his dreams to stage a show at the iconic venue York Hall, in Bethnal Green.

The GBM owner will put on a nine-fight event there on Friday, the bill including Rotherham's Taz Nadeem and Sheffield-trained Stevi Levy.
