Boundary changes mean Barnsley voters will see new constituency names on the ballot papers for the General Election in July.

Previously, the borough was split into four constituencies; Barnsley East represented by Stephanie Peacock; Barnsley Central held by Dan Jarvis; Penistone and Stocksbridge held by Miriam Cates and Wentworth and Dearne, represented by John Healey.

The changes were made by the Boundary Commission to even up the number of voters in each constituency.

In Barnsley North, Dan Jarvis will run again for Labour, contested by Penny Baker for the Liberal Democrats and Tom Heyes for the Green Party, with other parties yet to announce their candidates.
