Sheffield Magistrates’ Court recently heard how Phillip Blythen, 39, of Upperthorpe, struck at the Co-op, on Chapel Street, Woodhouse, twice on November 26 and once on November 27.
He admitted the thefts and pleaded guilty to an assault by beating on a former partner from July and a breach of a conditional discharge from June and admitted failing to surrender to court.

Hide AdSimon Gwynne, defending, told a previous hearing Blythen’s resumption of offending had come when he had lost work and had become involved with drugs again but he is seeking support.

The case had been adjourned until January 31 but has been further adjourned until March 12.
Blythen was granted conditional bail on the grounds he does not enter the Co-op store, on Chapel Street, Woodhouse.
