Safe places Sheffield: The 27 Sheffield neighbourhoods with least vandalism

These neighbourhoods have the fewest reports of criminal damage and arson in the whole of Sheffield, according to crime figures

When it comes to vandalism, some parts of Sheffield fair better than others.

And The Star has looked at the figures to find out which part of the city are most successful in steering clear of the worst criminal damage.

We looked at Sheffield Council’s ‘Local Insights’ statistics to establish which neighbourhoods record the lowest number of reports of criminal damage and arson.

The figures are taken from South Yorkshire Police crime figures for the year March 2023 to February 2024, but have been processed by the council’s statisticians to divide them up into the areas where the reports are coming from.

The figures show both the total number of reports of neighbourhood-level incidents of criminal damage and arson, and the number as a rate per 1,000 residents.

We have ranked the figures by the number of reports per 1,000 residents in each of those neighbourhoods. It means the place that tops the list for steering clear of vandalism here is the place with the fewest incidents per person living there.

In total, the city has been split into 70 neighbourhoods in the figures, and the figures are based on where the incidents occurred, not where they were reported from.

We have listed the 27 neighbourhoods in the city with the fewest incidents of criminal damage in the gallery below, with the larger number of incidents per person at the top, and the area with the fewest reports per resident in the whole of the city listed last.
