Leon Roberts: Man charged over Sheffield Parkway crash which claimed life of Sharna Brooke Burgin, 23

A man has appeared at court charged with causing death by dangerous driving, following a crash on the Sheffield Parkway, which resulted in the death of a 23-year-old woman.

24-year-old Leon Roberts is facing a two count indictment of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Both charges relates to a crash on the A57 Sheffield Parkway on February 26, 2023, which claimed the life of Sharna Burgin. A second individual was also seriously injured in the crash.

Sharna Burgin was taken to hospital following the crash, but sadly died the following day.

Mr Roberts, of Ballifield Close, Handsworth, Sheffield, appeared at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on Friday, May 31, 2024 charged with the offences, and the case was sent to Sheffield Crown Court. He is now due to appear for a plea and case management hearing at Sheffield Crown Court later this month.
