Summer dining destination: The Bradfield bistro giving school dinners a good name

The Schoolrooms Café & Kitchen and Assembly Bar & Bistro
Fancy a trip out to a recommended summer dining destination? The beautifully renovated Assembly Bar & Bistro is a top tip, just a short drive away at Bradfield on the edge of the beautiful Peak District – make the most of their Supper Club offers.

While the sun is shining, it’s the ideal time to make the most of dining destinations on your doorstep – and one top tip is Assembly Bar & Bistro in the picturesque village of Bradfield.

Renovated from the old village school, the unique dining experience is set against a backdrop of themed rooms which have been cleverly designed by one of its owners.

Using high-quality, fresh ingredients, its classic British dishes with a contemporary twist are all cooked from scratch by talented local chefs with traditional dining in mind. The phrase ‘something for everyone’ may be overused, but the chefs here have added a modern spin to delight all diners.

‘School dinner’ here means Beer Battered Fish & Chips, with fat chips and homemade tartare sauce, Hand-Crafted Steak & Ale Pie using Bradfield Brewery ale and rich gravy, or the Headmaster’s Burger with bacon, cheese, crisp lettuce, tomato, onion, gherkin and a special relish. Or, you can elevate your dining experience with Gambas al Ajillo, Pan Roasted Salmon with Sesame rice, Lamb rump with fondant potatoes, Sicilian Lemon Tart, or Espresso Martini Cheesecake accompanied with delicious seasonal cocktails.

The highly experienced bartenders, as well as mixing up delightful cocktails, have an extensive wine selection.
