Young pianist Max Law has used his musical skills to entertain patients and staff at St Luke’s Hospice.

Max, who is 14 and a pupil at Silverdale School, is currently completing tasks as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme bronze level.

And to fulfil the volunteering element of the project he decided to make use of his musical skills.

“Max’s grandma used to volunteer at a hospice and remembered they had somebody play the piano so perhaps Max could do the same,” said mum Michelle.

“He has to volunteer as part of the bronze award and he’s really enjoyed coming to St Luke’s and he’s received some lovely feedback.

“He’s said he definitely wants to carry on and he hopes he can come in once a month moving forward.”
