BARNSLEY have been boosted by the response of their fans in buying season tickets.
The sale of season tickets has rocketed past the levels at the same time last season and the club say that comparable sales are up by an amazing 65 per cent.
"We have already sold more tickets now than during the whole of last season and that is highly encouraging," said Oakwell's general manager Don Rowing.
The FA Cup run of last season and the feelgood factor that that generated, played a big part in the initial sales ahead of the discount deadline which has now passed. Then a flurry of recent signings - including £1.2 million striker Iain Hume - further boosted fans' interest. "There does seem to be a buzz about the place and it is excellent for everyone at the club that the fans have been responding in this way," added Rowing.
