Sheffield Wednesday's starting XI to face Huddersfield Town tonight

The Owls take on Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium, coming off the back of a defeat to Championship leaders Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday.
Despite coming away from Norfolk on the wrong end of a result, there were a few positives to take from a match in which Wednesday led up until the final stages.

Hide AdAnd Pulis can also call upon key-man Massimo Luongo for the Yorkshire derby, with the midfielder having served a one-match ban.
Here, Joe Crann and Alex Miller pick the team they would send out to face Huddersfield.
Joe Crann’s Sheffield Wednesday XI
I think for me, Wednesday could do with having a bit more creativity on the field against Huddersfield, and Izzy Brown fits the bill there – especially given that he knows the club pretty well.
As for Joost van Aken and Callum Paterson, it’s not about being ‘dropped’, I just think that Palmer is more of an attacking threat and I’ve liked what I’ve seen from him at left back in the past – and Paterson could probably do with a break.

Hide AdHarris and Reach will be really important against the Terriers in my opinion, need to give Windass some stuff to feed on.
Wildsmith, Iorfa, Lees, Börner, Palmer, Luongo, Bannan, Brown, Harris, Windass, Reach.
Alex Miller’s Sheffield Wednesday XI
Let’s erase the last 10 minutes from the memory for a second. It was encouraging to see Sheffield Wednesday shut out Norwich in the manner they did on Saturday, a Norwich who in Emi Buendia and Mario Vrancic have two of the trickier creative players in the division.
So I’d be tempted not to change too much and to again flood the midfield and set up with as much pace as possible on the counter, with Reach, Odubajo and Harris wide.
Having Luongo back is a big boost and could allow Pulis to push Iorfa back into a back five if he fancies, but there would be logic in keeping him to the bench with Joost van Aken on the left of the three again.

Hide AdPulis does not mind a curveball, however. It’ll be interesting to see how he goes.
