After a shocking 1-0 loss at home to South Yorkshire rivals Rotherham United earlier this week, it’s time for the Blades to redeem themselves.

Sheffield United will travel to South Wales this weekend as they take on Cardiff City in a Championship match after missing out on a chance of going top of the table following a shock defeat in the South Yorkshire derby against Rotherham United at home a few days ago.

On Tuesday evening (November 8), Rotherham United took all three points thanks to a goal scored by Ben Wiles in the 38th minute at Bramall Lane. This put a stop to the three-game winning streak that the Blades had been riding, especially after a fresh 5-2 victory against Championship leaders Burnley over the weekend. Paul Heckingbottom’s side has earned 14 points from six matches played against bottom nine teams in the division so far and they will now need to improve that record in South Wales.

Meanwhile, the Bluebirds are anxious to get back to winning ways at home against Sheffield United, as they are now 18th in the Championship table, four points clear of West Brom, who are now 22nd. Cardiff City, like the Blades, also have to redeem themselves following a crushing setback to Hull City earlier this week, when the visitors came from behind to win 3-2.

While it remains to be seen whether Sheffield United can grab three points from this match, the squad has been told to make ‘significant improvements’ at Cardiff City to put them back in the Premier League promotion race. Here’s what you need to know about the match, including if you can watch it live.
