A SOUTH Yorkshire man who killed a pal while racing a speeding stolen car is still on the run after absconding from prison two months ago.
Daniel Eccles, aged 21, from Swinton, Rotherham, was jailed for three and a half years in 2006 after admitting causing death by dangerous driving.

But in May he failed to return to Sudbury open prison in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, after being allowed out on leave. South Yorkshire police renewed their appeal for help in tracking down Eccles, who they think may be living in Cleethorpes. He also has connections in the Conis-brough area.

Thomas Nettleship, 17, was killed as he hung out of the open window of the speeding Ford Focus Eccles was driving at up to 80mph.

Eccles was jailed for four years at Doncaster Crown Court in 2006 for causing death by dangerous driving, motoring and public order offences.
