PUPILS in Rotherham are being given free tickets for the town's swimming pools as part of a major new safety campaign.
Vouchers are being handed out to thousands of secondary school pupils which will enable them to swim at Rotherham's eight pools free of charge.

The idea is to try to prevent youngsters being tempted to cool off in local rivers or reservoirs which can be extremely dangerous.

The scheme means they can swim up to twice a week until the end of August.
