Suspected flat fire in city centre was false alarm

Firefirefighters were called to Sharman Court, student accommodation on Broad Lane, shortly before 5.30pm yesterday.

Five pumps - two from Central station and one each from Rivelin, Parkway and Birley - attended but a South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Spokesman said the fire 'was a false alarm.'
