Grass cuttings and rubbish were set alight in arson attacks in Sheffield last night.

The grass was found burning in Lichford Road, Heeley and the rubbish was set alight in New Hall Road, Attercliffe.

Crews were also called out to deal with a hedge fire in Manor Park Drive, Manor Park, Sheffield; a caravan fire in Scrooby Lane, Parkgate, Rotherham and a car fire in Wharncliffe Avenue, Wharncliffe Side, Sheffield.

A discarded cigarette is believed to have caused a fence fire in Sutton Avenue, Athersley North, Barnsley and a Nissan Navara went up in flames in Northfield Road, Sprotbrough, Doncaster.
