Sheffield Wednesday: Owls' bonding trip to Amsterdam has team fighting for each other, says Sam Hutchinson
Due to the Championship club’s busy December run, Wednesday’s players jetted off to the Netherlands for their annual Christmas party at the end of last month.
The bash took place after their victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers and Carlos Carvalhal’s side have since picked up another two wins to move back into the play-off positions.

Hide AdHutchinson said: “We will be there or thereabouts throughout the season. You can see the quality in the team.
“We’ve got a great squad and everybody is together.
“We had our little Christmas do and it brought everyone together massively. It was very important we had that as we had that team spirit all last season.”
The versatile Owls player capped a fine individual performance by claiming the second goal in the side’s 2-0 midweek success over Barnsley.
“We are a much better team than last season,” insisted Hutchinson. “We know each other better.

Hide Ad“We understand what the gaffer wants from us and we are looking forward to every game.
“There’s only been two games where we haven’t played well and we got punished for them. In the rest of the games, we’ve done what the gaffer wanted us to do.
“It has been a little disappointing with the results where we haven’t had more luck.”

Hide AdThe second leg of a derby home double for Wednesday takes place this weekend when they lock horns with bottom-of-the-table Rotherham United.
Hutchinson said: “I think the rivalry is a bit more intense so I can’t wait.”
“It is right up my street. I love big derbies as I’m used to playing in them. I’m happy to play in any game and always up for it.”
