Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Barry Bannan has issued an update after being forced off during his side's 1-0 defeat at home to Fulham.

Scottish international Bannan, who has only just returned to the team after suffering a hip injury, looked frustrated when he was withdrawn and replaced by Jacob Butterfield on the half-hour mark.

But, judging by a post on his Twitter account, he might not be sidelined for as long as Owls' fans first feared.

He posted: "Hope injury isn’t too bad just maybe the three games in a week taking its toll on my groin hopefully back stronger next week thanks for your concern #swfc."

Alexsandar Mitrovic continued his impressive goal-scoring form to give promotion-chasing Fulham all three points at Hillsborough.
