Sheffield teen battling cancer gets £11,000 boost from hotel where he worked
Carter Lax, of High Green, was diagnosed in January with stage four brain cancer - the most advanced level of the disease.
Staff at Staindrop Lodge Hotel, in Chapeltown, where the 16-year-old had begun his first job just weeks before, rallied round to raise money for Carter and his family.

Amy Ryan, the hotel's general manager, said: "Carter is hugely popular with everyone here. He came on work experience and left such a mark we invited him to return when he was old enough to work here, which he did.
"Everyone was determined to do something to help when they heard about his diagnosis, and hopefully this money will help Carter and his family create as many wonderful memories as possible."
