Sheffield girl, 6, donates hair to cancer charity
Erin Shelby Barber Knight, of Dore, told her mum she wanted to donate some of her hair to the Little Princess Trust after hearing about other youngsters doing the same.
The charity makes wigs for children who have suffered hair loss through cancer treatment

Hide AdMum Jo Knight said: “My husband and I are just so proud of Erin for deciding to do something that could make such a difference to someone else’s life.
“She has shown maturity beyond her six years and it is heart warming to know that she is growing up already wanting to help others in a less fortunate position than her.”
So far Erin’s big haircut has raised £1,608, with most of the money coming from family, friends and work colleagues.
Jo, who is a 39-year-old marketing director, added: “She has only had two tiny trims up until now, so this was her first proper haircut.

Hide Ad“I think she was feeling both excitement and a little apprehensive before having it done, as it was a big deal, but every day we kept showing her how much she had raised and I think this inspired her and also made her realise there was no turning back.
“Her hair had always been long, but now it’s a short bob. My husband and I think her new hairstyle looks fantastic and really suits her.”
