Sheffield firm fined for illegally burning waste
Vision Trade Frames Limited, of Cuthbert Bank Road Hillsborough, was fined £135 by Sheffield magistrates after being prosecuted by Sheffield Council.
The company faced one charge of illegally burning waste after a member of the public reported smoke coming from the firm’s premises and entering her home.

Hide AdA environment officer from the council investigated and found ash and other debris on the premises.
The firm admitted the offence and in addition to the fine was ordered to pay the council’s costs of £200.
Tony Downing, Sheffield Council’s Cabinet Assistant for Environment and Transport, said: “We are committed to improving air quality in Sheffield.
“Illegal burning of waste causes harmful fumes and toxins in our air, and nearby residents should not be subjected to breathing them in.

“There are legitimate ways that businesses can dispose of their waste so there is no excuse for illegally burning it.”
