GALLERY: Open All Hours in pictures as Sir David Jason celebrates 76th birthday today
The star has been a familiar face on the streets of Balby since the 1970s when Open All Hours first began its run, cameras filming at the converted Beautique harirdressing salon on the corner of Lister Avenue and Scarth Avenue alongside comic legend Ronnie Barker.
The pair teamed up for the cornershop sitcom which saw Barker playing miserly, stuttering shopkeeper Arkwright witth Jason playing his put-upon nephew and errand boy Granville.

Hide AdThe show ran for four series between 1973 and 1985 - but made a surprise return in the guise of Still Open All Hours a few years ago and a third series of the revamped sitcom is due to beging filming in Doncaster later this year.
In the latest series, Granville is now running the shop with his son Leroy following the death of Arkwright.
