Doorbell camera footage shows the moment thieves scarper when a car alarm sounds as they try and break in.

The incident took place in Southey in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Footage shows what appears to be a Citroën Berlingo Multispace drive slowly past the car.

Minutes later, four hooded men approach the car and can be seen seemingly trying to gain entry via the drivers’ door.

A vehicle matching the description was later found burnt out at Longley Park.
