“The vehicle was displaying false number plates and had been stolen during a burglary on December 30 in the Little Houghton area of Barnsley,” added PCSO Thorpe.

“A 24-year-old male from Bolton upon Dearne and a 50-year-old male from Wath upon Dearne were duly arrested for burglary, taking a vehicle without consent, failing to stop, being over the prescribed limit (excess drugs) and having a bladed article in public place (machete found in vehicle).

“Both males were bailed pending forensic results.”
