Thieves target home of South Yorkshire 72-year-old and steal jewellery

Detectives in Rotherham have shared an image of items of jewellery and silverware that were taken in a burglary on October 15, in a bid to trace the stolen items and trace those responsible.

At 11.30am, an alarm was triggered at an address in New Road, Firbeck. The 72-year-old occupant returned home to find that their home had been burgled.

It is reported that offenders forced entry to the address and searched the property, before stealing a number of items including an Omega watch and silverware.

A short time later, a man was seen in the area driving a scooter with what is believed to have been false plates.

Enquiries are ongoing to identify those involved and police are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard what happened.
