A motorcyclist who was caught riding without insurance has been fined and had his licence endorsed with six points.

Sheffield Magistrates’ Court heard on March 5 how Ethan James Attwood, 19, of Crownhill Road, Brinsworth, Rotherham, was caught by police on Mangham Road, Rotherham, about 8.30pm, on January 24.

Prosecuting solicitor David Marshall said: “Officers saw him riding a motorcycle near Mangham Road and they stopped him and found he had no insurance to drive that vehicle.”

Attwood pleaded guilty to using a Yamaha motorcycle on January 24 at Mangham Road, Rotherham, without insurance being in force in relation to that vehicle.

The defendant told magistrates that he had bought the motorcycle to help get back-and-forth to work.

Magistrates fined Attwood £120 and ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.

They also endorsed his driving licence with six points.
