Hide AdNearly three years on since the stabbing nobody has been charged with his murder.
Four men were recently sentenced for conspiracy to supply drugs on the night of the stabbing, with the knife attack said to have occurred during a drug deal they played a part in.
Detectives are keen to trace Ahmed Farrah, who is believed to have been injured in the same incident in which Kavan was stabbed.
He sought medical treatment at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital on the night of the murder and the following day but then went to ground.

Hide AdFarrah, who is also known as ‘Reggie’ and has links to Broomhall, was last seen in Cardiff the month after Kavan’s death.
His passport has never been recovered.
Friends, relatives and acquaintances across the country have all been visited and served with harbouring notices, warning that anyone found shielding him faces arrest and prosecution.
Posting on Facebook, Kavan’s mum, Emma Hamilton, expressed her disappointment at the lack of justice for her son and the failure of the police to track down Farrah for questioning.
“Still no justice for my son, Kavan, nearly three years on. Disgrace if am honest in locating him.”
She said it is believed ‘he’s out of country’.

Hide AdDuring an inquest into Kavan’s death the year after his murder, it was revealed that Kavan’s mobile phone had not been recovered from the crime scene.
Coroner Chris Dorries recorded a verdict of unlawful killing and added: “The only thing I am going to say for the purposes of who is responsible for this death is that things just do not get forgotten. We all see in our newspapers people being arrested for murders 25 to 30 years ago.”
Kavan’s family said at the time: “We hope sometime soon, we will be able to see some justice for Kavan.”
