Sheffield man tells of his horror after arsonist sets fire to his car

The offender set fire to the vehicle, which was parked on Hinde House Lane in the Page Hall area of the city, shortly before 12.30am on Tuesday, January 14.
Thankfully, nobody was injured as the car went up in flames on the residential street.

Hide AdSpeaking to The Star, the owner of the car – who did not want to be named – told of his horror at the crime, which he believes was a targeted attack.
“I’m the nicest person in the area,” he said.
“No other cars were damaged – just mine.
“I feel shocked that someone would do this and target me.”
He added: “CCTV footage shows someone lighting my car.
“The police have told me this is an arson attack and that they are investigating this matter.
“I want to know if any witnesses saw this or even have cameras in the area they can watch.”
South Yorkshire Police confirmed it was investigating the offence and issued a public appeal for information.

Hide AdA spokesperson for the force said: “Just before 12.30am on Tuesday, January 14, it is reported that an unknown offender set a car alight outside of a property on Hinde House Lane, Sheffield.
“No one was injured.
“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information should call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting incident number 12 of January 14 2020.”
