A number of shootings have been reported in Arbourthorne and nearby Heeley over recent months.
A drive-by shooting on Northern Avenue, Arbourthorne, in January, led to a 12-year-old boy being hospitalised as he was caught in the crossfire between two rival gangs.
A public meeting was called and attended by MP Louise Haigh, South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner Dr Alan Billings and police and council representatives.
