A man armed with a firearm and a large hunting knife was chased down a Sheffield street by police officers.

Officers from the Sheffield South East Neighbourhood Policing Team gave chase to the man down Beaumont Road, Manor.

Alert issued over unusual trick car thieves are using in this part of Sheffield

The team tweeted about the incident on Friday and said: “A male detained following a foot chase on Beaumont Road was found to be in possession of a firearm and a large hunting knife.

"He has been subsequently charged and remanded.”
