Everything we know after man shot and ‘critically injured’ in Sheffield gun attack

As detectives investigate a shooting in Sheffield, which left a man critically injured, here is everything known so far:

- A 28-year-old man was shot in Staniforth Road, Darnall, just before 5pm on Saturday.

- The victim was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to his upper body.

- He was admitted to hospital in a critical condition and remained there last night.

- Part of Staniforth Road was taped off and under police guard over the weekend while a forensic examination of the crime scene was carried out.

- Scenes of crime officers in white suits combed the area while police officers carried out house-to-house enquiries looking for witnesses to the shooting or residents who may have seen or heard anything suspicious.

- As of last night, no arrests had been made

- Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 592 of January 4.
