A car crashed into a garden and overturned onto its roof after rolling down a hill it was parked on in Sheffield.

Emergency services were called to Upperthorpe Glen in Sheffield just before 6pm on Tuesday, 10 June following reports a car was on its roof in the garden of a house.

South Yorkshire Police and two crews from South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue attended the scene, with the latter stood down.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “It appears that there had been a mechanical failure with the car and it had rolled down a hill it had been parked on before coming to a stop in the garden.

“Nobody was hurt and no arrests were made.”

A picture from the scene shows a drop of several feet between street level and the garden. The car has since been removed but much of the garden’s fencing has been broken.
