999 viewers shocked as Sheffield youngsters deny breaking into building site

Last night’s episode of the hit Channel 4 show opened with PCs Mike Doggett and Sophie O’Reilly stopping their patrol car to talk to two youngsters they found caked in mud as they walked through Fox Hill.
Despite their clothes being covered in mud and with one of the boys having cement on his face, the pair continually denied they had been playing on a nearby construction site.

Hide AdBut after a search revealed a screwdriver on one of the pair, the situation escalated and the pair ended up being taken home by patrol car to their parents in shame.
And viewers of last night’s show, which goes behind the scenes at South Yorkshire Police, were left shocked by some of the scenes witnessed on the gritty reality TV show, which focused on youth crime.
One said: “Kids like these have zero respect.”
Another posted: “The problem these days are kids and young people have zero respect.”
Another blamed a lack of community facilities and said: “When I was at school, mon fri school disco, wed thu local wmc disco sat match sun ice skating. Today kids got nowhere to go really.”

Hide AdAnother tweet said: “We need more youth clubs up and down the country, kids are bored and need somewhere safe to stay and hang out with their mates and not get into trouble.”
The programme, which continues next Monday at 9pm, also revealed the amount of hoax and timewasting calls to SYP from bored youngsters.
