Guitarist to raise hospice funds

A LEADING acoustic guitarist has agreed to play a gig in Sheffield in aid of One of St Luke's Hospice, Sheffield and Rotherham Hospice.
Renowned guitarist Gordon Giltrap will be appearing at a musical evening hosted by Sheffield architects Race Cottam Associates.

The event is on Saturday, July 12 at the Cutler's Hall. Tickets are available for friends, suppliers, consultants and c

NHS menu

CATERING staff at Rotherham Hospital are planning a 1940s menu as part of celebrations to mark the 60th anniversary of the NHS.

The special meal is one of a number of events planned by the hospital to mark the anniversary today, some of them to raise funds for its Gamma Scanner Appeal.

MP’s support

SHEFFIELD Heeley MP Meg Munn has supported Yorkshire Fashion Week. She met leading young designers, models, fashion experts from Yorkshire and hopes it will become an annual event. Fashion Week is a celebration of the region’s design and manufacturing talent.

Water works

VOLUNTEERS from Yorkshire Water have created a garden at Holy Cross Deanery Church of England Primary School in Carlton, Barnsley for pupils to enjoy. There is a vegetable patch, a pond for tadpoles and newts and a wild garden where children can search for insects.

Safety first

SHOPPERS in Staveley are to be given free purse and wallet chains and personal attack alarms to help stop them becoming victims of crime. Information on personal safety issues will also be handed out from a stall in Morrisons supermarket, Staveley, on July 11.

Cancer carers

MORE than 100 women attended a lunch at The Maynard, Grindleford to learn more about Sheffield-based Cavendish Cancer Care. The event raised almost £2,000 for the Broomhall centre which offers free support to people with cancer.
