DANCER Darren Bennett has urged South Yorkshire fans to vote for his wife in Strictly Come Dancing - after he crashed out of the BBC series last night.
Darren, aged 31, was paired with EastEnders actress Jessie Wallace but was given the boot in the results show last night after a low-scoring Quickstep on Saturday.
He told The Star he was "very disappointed" - but urged supporters to vote for his
wife and professional dance partner Lilia Kopylova, who is paired with Rising Damp actor Don Warrington.
Darren said: "It's the nature of the competition that somebody has to go out each week, and we were bottom of the judges' leader board and then in the dance-off so it was always a possibility.
"We are both very disappointed but the standard is very high this year and I am sure in other series Jessie would have gone through with her performance."
Darren, who was born in Deepcar and brought up in Todwick, now divides his time between London and a home in Rotherham. His parents Tony and Judith run the City Limits Dance School on Penistone Road, Sheffield.
Next Saturday Lilia and Don will dance the American Smooth.
