ROTHERHAM United right back Mark Lynch is set for an exploratory operation on his injured shoulder.
He suffered a dislocation in the final seconds of the recent home game against Luton Town and although it has settled down, the club wants to find out the actual extent of the damage.
He has seen the specialist and it is likely he will have an exploratory operation which will determine whether or not further rest will enable him to eventually resume or whether he should have corrective surgery.
"We want to ensure we do what's right," said manager Mark Robins. "Mark had a good start with us and this injury was a blow for him."
Meanwhile, Rotherham stress to their fans that only those on their club database will be able to obtain tickets for the home clash with Leeds United in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, second round.
The tie, on Wednesday, October 8, has been made all-ticket on police advice and safety grounds. There will be no tickets or pay-on-the-gate available on the night of the match.
Those already on the club data base – previous ticket purchasers – can get a ticket. Those who pre-purchase for the Grimsby game this Saturday or provide a ticket stub from that game, will then be eligible for a ticket for the Leeds match.
Another alternative is to fill in a data capture form available from the turnstiles next week but only one capture form per person will be allowed.
Tickets are on sale at the club offices at Parkgate and sales will stop at 2.30pm on the day of the game.
The club point out that tomorrow's Fans Forum meeting, organised by the Millers Trust and featuring chairman Tony Stewart and manager Mark Robins, is open to all supporters and not just Trust members. It is at the Liquid/Diva nightclub at Masbrough starting at 7.30pm.
