A South Yorkshire MP has announced he is self-isolating after coming into contact with someone who has coronavirus.

Rother Valley MP Alexander Stafford today said he had no symptoms but had been advised to self-isolate ‘as a precaution’.

He tweeted this afternoon: “Having had contact with a victim of coronavirus I have sought advice from Public Health England. I am asymptomatic but as a precaution I have been advised to self isolate. I'm continuing to hold meetings via phone & skype. Remember to #WashYourHands.”
