This is how many new coronavirus cases there are in Sheffield
The city’s rate of new coronavirus cases has fallen from 17.1 per 100,000 people, recorded on the seven days to July 26, compared to 13.3 per 100,000 on the week ending August 2 – according to government figures.
Sheffield documented 78 new Covid-19 cases in the seven days up to August 2, a reduction of 22 cases compared to the week before – information published by Public Health England on the government’s coronavirus online dashboard has shown.

Hide AdAcross South Yorkshire, the number new Covid-19 cases has increased in Rotherham with 31 people testing positive for the virus in the week ending August 2, compared to 30 new cases on the seven days up until July 26.
The town now has a rate of 11.7 new coronavirus cases per 100,000 people – an increase from the 11.3 case rate recorded in the previous week.
In Barnsley, 31 new people tested positive for Covid-19 until August 2 – an increase of 17 from the last seven day record.
The town previously recorded a rate of 5.7 new virus cases in the week ending July 26, compared to Barnsley’s latest recording of 12.6 positive cases in 100,000 people.
