SHEFFIELD'S dental hospital is getting more than a million pounds of extra funding to spend on new information technology systems to train students.
The Charles Clifford Dental Hospital is getting a £1.1 million share of £11m from the Department of Health, NHS Connecting for Health and the Dental IT programme board.

The money is being divided between 10 hospital trusts around the country, each
of which will use the money to train dental students in the use of computer programmes such as archiving pictures, booking appointments and accessing medical records.

The money will also be used for research to find ways to improve dental health.
