After weeks of agony at Bramall Lane Bryan Robson has finally left Sheffield United.
New man Kevin Blackwell has the task of saving the Blades' season.

We want to know what you think of Robson's reign and the prospects for Kevin Blackwell's new regime.

What a backward step the Blades have taken, why oh why didn't they go for Chris Coleman?
Peter Fell.

I'm wondering why Brian Robson turned down the new role offered him with the Blades; I would have thought it more suitable to his skills and temperament than that of Team Manager; where he's failed in motivating players, week in week out.

As for Kevin Blackwell's appointment and his contract to the end of the season, well, I'm sure he'll do a solid job and supporters expectations will perhaps be more realistic, given our position in the league and the number of matches left. But you never know, he may just have what it takes to give the team, club and supporters a lift before the end of the season. Good luck to him.

Fantastic news never thought he would do any good! What had he done at any of the other clubs he has managed nothing. Hopefully Blackwell can introduce some passion, we have the players but not the passion, I don't mind loosing if we give it a fair go with lots of passion, but the trop that has been dished up this season, and all he kept saying was give me time, give me time, how much time do you need, lots I suppose when you have no idea....

I hope Blackwell succeeds for Sheff Utd sake, but his record at Leeds & Luton has been poor, even given the less than perfect circumstances. He has certainly left Luton with a legacy of old, tired players who were either not fit for service when he signed them or could care less now that he's gone.

I understand Crystal Palace are one of the form teams in the championship. I wonder if we could poach their manager? I understand he is a bit of a scrapper with a history of getting the most out of players.

Glad he's left, not too convinced by Blackwell's ability but he can't do any worse than Robson. If he shows a bit of passion he's already going in the right direction.

On a side note - anyone else find it funny that the online 'SLIDESHOW OF ROBSONS CAREER' has only two photos, both of the press conference where is was announced as manager...possibly the most exciting bit of his 'reign'...?! Quality.

So let me get this straight. we could've had billy Davies or maybe Chris Coleman, but McCabe decides to bring in that Leeds scum traitor! well done McCabe, and thankyou for appointing another idiot manager. Its not really a backwards step, more a leap into the dark ages

I think Blackwell's the right man for the job - he played a big part in the 02/03 season and hasn't had a bad start to his management career considering the conditions he had to work under at Luton and L**ds.

Reading some of the comments on here makes me laugh, the same people who wanted Robson out are straight on Blackwell's case. "Backward step", "another idiot manager", "traitor"... listen to yourselves, if we'd appointed Mourinho you'd have found something to moan about!

This season's already a write-off so there's nothing to lose. He can't be any worse than Robson so give the fella a chance, if it doesn't work out then fair enough we can get rid at the end of the season and get someone else in.
