YOU might have noticed we got a right soaking this time last year but the one place you could guarantee to stay dry were the Jazz and Classical in the Gardens events amid the lawns and flowerbeds of the Botanical Gardens.
"We were blessed with three dry nights," says David Pollard of Sheffield Rotary Club, the organisers.

This year the nights are a week later - jazz next Wednesday and Thursday while the Sheffield Philharmonic and Highly Strung play on Saturday.

The Dizzy Club headline both jazz nights with the Nicola Farnon Quartet on Wednesday and Carmen Ghia and her Hot Rods on Thursday.

Like open air Heartbreak theatre, the several thousand audience bring along their own chairs and blankets, picnic baskets and bottles of wine.

If you can't be bothered there's a bar and stall selling Mexican food.

All the money raised will go to Weston park cancer care, the Alzheimers Society and other Rotary charities.

Tickets cost £5 in advance on 0114 278 9789, 0114 281 3132 or Botanical Gardens shop, or £7.50 on the gate.
