Sheffield’s first dedicated macaroni cheese restaurant – which was forced to shut only a month after opening when lockdown was imposed – has returned to offer deliveries.

Macpot was launched by sisters Emily and Hatty Webster on the upper floor of Orchard Square in February. The pair started out by selling on street food markets from a truck called Fizz & Fromage before taking on a permanent site.

But, on March 23, the Websters announced they were ‘totally closed’ because of the strict Government directives aimed at curbing the spread of Covid-19.

“It's very sad,” the sisters said at the time. “We've loved our first month with you all.”

Now Macpot is back. The restaurant is offering ‘bake at home’ dishes – containing a gluten-free cheese sauce, tasty fillings and topped with crunchy breadcrumbs – and is going live on the UberEats service from 6pm on Thursday, May 14.

“We’re upping the ante this week,” Emily and Hatty said. “Everything is up in the air except the fact that mac and cheese is a good idea – fact.”
