Ingle-stabled Tyan Booth travelled to Leicester after being granted a shot at the vacant British Masters middleweight title following the withdrawal of Barnsley stablemate and previous champion Lee Noble.
Booth, aged 25, faced local favourite Kevin 'The Panther' Concepcion, who took an impressive 11-0 record into the scheduled ten rounder.
Concepcion emerged victorious by 98-93 on the score-card of Wellingborough referee John Keane.
Despite looking to make the most of his height and reach advantages Tyan failed to stop the Leicester man regularly barrelling his way inside to score with salvos to the head and whilst there was never too much daylight between the two fighters it was Concepcion's busy starts and slightly higher work-rate that caught the eye.
Tyan did had his moments in the ascendancy, most notably in the sixth, seventh and ninth rounds when his hooks to the head and chopping rights found their intended target, but down the final stretch there only ever really looked like one winner.
The contest between Doncaster super-middleweight James Tucker, and first-timer Shaun Warner was cancelled.
