ESHAM PICKERING'S dream of a return to the big time was blocked when Matthew Marsh beat him via an unanimous points decision to win the British super bantamweight title at Bethnal Green.
Marsh, had been expectd to struggle against the one-time Brendan Ingle protege who has now quit Sheffield for training in Newark, Notts.

The former European champion did not have the endurance after taking an early pounding to both head and body.

Yet there was a time when it looked like he could get back in it.

But Marsh put his foot back on the gas and deservedly took the national crown, much to his fans' delight.
