Sheep hit by movement ban at market
Derbyshire police helped officials from the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to keep 12,000 sheep inside the Bakewell Agricultural Business Centre yesterday afternoon until a decision could be made about their future.
Restricted movement was allowed in the evening.
Bakewell wasn't the only market to be affected - at least 1,300 cattle were also stranded in Carlisle, Cumbria.

Hide AdThe latest case of the disease has been confirmed at Milton Park Farm near Egham in Surrey. A 10km control zone has been set up around its site and a movement ban put in place. to prevent the disease spreading while cattle are culled.
