Neil Thompson’s Owls didn’t do it flashy. It wasn’t aesthetically appealing. But they ground out a vital Championship win against one of their fellow relegation candidates.
Callum Paterson grabbed the goal with a bundled header, the defence kept a clean sheet.
May you dreams be jolly and bright. Here are the ratings from a hard-fought three points.
1. Joe Wildsmith - 7
In for Keiren Westwood, Wildsmith didn't have masses to do despite Derby's barrage in the first hour or so. One hairy moment after the hour went unpunished. A solid clean sheet. Photo: Mick Walker - CameraSport
2. Moses Odubajo - 6
Unusually quiet going forward, Odubajo defended with little fuss. Has bounced back admirably from the horrors at Forest. Photo: NurPhoto
3. Tom Lees - 8
Another very good showing from the centre back, didn’t really put a foot wrong and made some big interventions. Lead the defence well in the absence of the vocal Dunkley. Something of a colossus. Photo: Stu Forster
4. Liam Shaw - 7
A strong performance in foreign position from the youngster, who seems to be going from strength to strength. Photo: Steve Ellis
