Where’s Keiren Westwood? Garry Monk gives update on Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper as the end of the transfer window draws closer – he’s still with the U23s

Westwood fell out of favour at Hillsborough last season and hasn’t played for the Owls at all in 2020, with Cameron Dawson and Joe Wildsmith now seen as the two who will be fighting it out for a starting spot for Wednesday.
Speaking today at his weekly press conference, the SWFC boss explained the whereabouts of the long-serving Owls goalie, explaining that there is a plan for him to move on if the opportunity arises.

So could that happen before the window closes?
“I’m hopeful for him, and hopeful for us as a club,” he stated. “As I’ve said, that’s all in the hands of the club, my focus is on preparing for these games and trying to get results.
“At this moment in time we’ve had a lot of football and a lot of quick turnarounds, and we’ve got an important game this weekend, so all my energy is with that.
“The rest of it the club is dealing and working behind the scenes.”
