The Owls have lost just three games in League One this season, and are eight points better off than they were at this point last season – showing an improvement in output following another busy summer at Hillsborough.

“I think we’ve drawn games that we’d have ended up losing a season or two ago,” he told The Star. “It shows us that we’ve got a bit about us now that we can not get beat, and we’re creating many, many chances to win loads more games than we have. It’s not clicked yet, but it will eventually.
“When the new boys came in it takes a couple of games for everyone to adapt and figure out what we’re good at, and the Gaffer has to work with everyone individually to see what we can do. But we’re clicking now, putting together a good run of form, and hopefully we can keep it going.
“Last year we had a lot of players, this year we’ve cut it down. So it’s easier to integrate everyone in the group - it’s a good team spirit, a good camaraderie, and we’re having fun.”

He added, “It’s a massive, old cup… It’s a proper cup, one you want to do well in. Having it on your CV is something special, and you never know what can happen, so we have to get past this game and hopefully progress further.”
