Tom Lees who up until last summer was club captain at Hillsborough, has made 274 appearances for the Owls across seven years of service.
And though Tony Pulis spoke of initial conversations over a possible contract extension back in December, there appears to have been little movement since.

One man who certainly hopes Lees’ future is at S6 is Barry Bannan.
“He’s been amazing,” he told The Star. “Since I’ve been here he’s been brilliant and is a massive part of this squad.
“He’s going to be a massive miss in these two games because his leadership qualities and how he’s performed this season, it’s a big miss for us.

“We don’t know what’s happening with Tom’s contract but personally I’d love him to stay here and help us next season.”
Lees is awaiting further treatment on his ankle before a proper diagnosis can be offered, though Jamie Smith said there were no early signs of a break or fracture.
And the uncertain future Lees faces in terms of a contract was not far from Bannan’s mind, he admitted.

“I’ve spoken to him and I’ve tried to keep his head up. It’s hard because he’s injured and he doesn’t know what’s going to happen contractually.
“He’s a bit down but hopefully he’ll get some good news, he’s to see a specialist about what’s going to happen but hopefully he gets the news he wants. I’ll be praying he’s back as soon as possible really.”
