Sheffield Wednesday lining up behind-closed-doors pre-season match next week

With the season scheduled to start with a Carabao Cup tie at Walsall on September 5, the Owls head to the world-renowned facility on Monday to drill down on some of the work already put in place by Garry Monk and his new-look coaching staff.
It is understood the club are in talks with at least two clubs to stage matches, one of which could take place at Loughborough behind closed doors, with no access for either spectators or the media.

Wednesday new boys Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Chey Dunkley have trained with their new teammates at their Middlewood Road base this week alongside new coaches James Beattie, Andrew Hughes and Darryl Flahavan.
The squad is split into groups for the time being as they continue to undergo fitness and conditioning tests, with much of the technical and ball work to kick off next week.
The facilities are Loughborough are used by a wide range of elite sports teams, regularly hosting England cricket and England Rugby Union training camps as well as camps from a number of clubs at home and abroad.
